President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with UAE Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Friday in Ashgabat. Sheikh Mansour arrived in Turkmenistan for an official visit, as reported by the official media of Turkmenistan. During the conversation, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation based on equality, mutual respect, and partnership. They discussed collaboration across various sectors, including politics, economy, investment, energy, transport, and culture. The discussion focused on expanding trade and economic ties, particularly the increasing trade turnover between Turkmenistan and the UAE in recent years. Both sides highlighted active cooperation in the oil and gas sector, energy, transport, and agriculture, as well as the participation of UAE companies in major infrastructure and construction projects in Turkmenistan. President of Turkmenistan and Vice President Sheikh Mansour emphasized the importance of Turkmenistan’s neutrality and the UAE’s strategic initiatives on the international stage. President Berdimuhamedov recalled that Turkmenistan had proposed 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust," coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the UN’s recognition of Turkmenistan’s neutrality. The head of state invited Sheikh Mansour to attend an international forum scheduled for December 12 in Ashgabat, expressing confidence that his visit would further enhance bilateral relations. Turkmenistan and the UAE established diplomatic relations in 1995.
