Turkmenistan Participates in High-Level ECO Meeting in Tehran

The Turkmen delegation, led by Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Gurbanov, participated in the first meeting of the High-Level Committee of Deputy Foreign Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) on February 3 in Tehran, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Representatives from the foreign ministries of ECO member states, leaders of regional organizations, specialized institutions, and structural units of the organization attended the event. The discussions focused on financial and budgetary cooperation, the implementation of the "ECO Vision 2025" goals, and the improvement of the organization's operational mechanisms.

Ahmet Gurbanov emphasized Turkmenistan's commitment to strengthening regional cooperation and presented the country's initiatives, including the creation of a Global Atlas of Sustainable Transport Connectivity, an Alliance for Global Energy Security and Sustainable Development, and a transition to a circular economy. He also highlighted the importance of effectively implementing the ECO Trade Agreement to deepen regional integration and develop cooperation in tourism and human capital.

During the meeting, Gurbanov held a brief discussion with ECO Secretary-General Asad Majid Khan, where they reviewed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the organization.
