Turkmenistan and PETRONAS strengthen partnership in training specialists
A meeting was held at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University between the university's leadership and representatives of «PETRONAS Çarigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd», as well as the Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. During the meeting, the rector of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University familiarized the participants with the university's structure, its fields of specialist training, and its achievements. In this context, it was noted that online courses on advanced technologies and equipment used in the oil and gas industry are held for the faculty of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University, and that the university's students regularly take part in summer industrial internships at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS in Malaysia.It was noted that the Memorandum of Understanding signed on November 13, 2024, between the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University, PETRONAS Çarigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd, and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS is already the fourth agreement aimed at continuing mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of science and education.Noting the high standing of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS among the engineering universities of Malaysia and Asia, Akmal Niza Ahmad, a Senior General Manager of Education and Human Capital Investment of the PETRONAS, expressed gratitude for the mutually beneficial cooperation with the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University. She emphasized her interest in developing research activities and proposed establishing cooperation on joint research projects, the writing of academic papers, and their publication in internationally indexed scientific journals. The representative also stated that the university would continue online and in-person classes involving professors from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS in the fields of oil and gas engineering, geology, chemical technology, and digital systems.
